What is a Case Restoration?

A Case Restoration brings the exterior of your watch back to its intended beauty by reviving and refreshing many different finishes.

Updated this week

A Case Restoration returns the exterior of the watch to as close to the factory finish as is possible without compromising the structural integrity or design of the watch.

A case restoration includes:

  • Dismantling of the full watch, including movement removal

  • Water resistance and pressure renewal and testing

  • Reassembly of watch and movement

  • Polishing or otherwise refinishing (e.g. brushed or bead-blast finish) of all outer surfaces of the case and bracelet, back to factory specifications

  • Cleaning of the case and bracelet

A case restoration does not include:

  • Repair of deep gashes, dents or scratches

  • Repair of a bent or crushed case

  • Bracelet structural tightening

  • Bracelet resizing

Limitations of a case restoration:

  • Case restorations cannot always return older worn watches to factory specifications

  • Case restorations can distort the smaller details on a watch

  • Case restorations cannot be performed to watches that are structurally compromised

  • Case restorations cannot be performed on certain special materials including PVD, DLC, Carbon, Forged Carbon, Composites, Bright Light, Ceramic as well as other materials with a coating

*Extraordinarily severe dents, gashes, dings, or scratches may not be fully resolved through standard case restoration. For specialized services that can address these issues, please contact our concierge team.

Should a part be unsalvageable or not functioning properly, replacement parts will be added. Some watches may require parts to be ordered from the manufacturer. In this case, we will update you throughout the process.
